In 2009, my wife and I decided to attempt Project 365: one photograph per day for one year. My goal was to create a truly good photograph each day, though I fell short more often than I succeeded. However, in spite of many below average photographs, I am thankful to have forced myself to take far more photographs than I otherwise would have, including a few that make the whole project worthwhile. :)

[365.100] Meet Nero!

Today we rescued this little black and turquoise betta from the evil hold of Petco. Ok, he did seem to be treated well enough there, but after a bit of a struggle with getting his bowl set up, we moved Nero* into his <a href="http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=583&f=5199">four-gallon mansion</a>. He is a fun, energetic little guy. After only a couple days, he already comes over to the side of the bowl whenever we come to look at him, and just tonight he jumped out of the water to bit a piece of food off my fingertip. He also sleeps on the silk plant we got him. So cute. The only bad thing is that he's so energetic that he's impossible to photograph. Someday I'll get a good photo..!

*Italian for black, and a royal (though somewhat <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero">sketchy</a>) name. We thought it would be fun to name our fishie after ancient royalty, as philosopher names are reserved for cats, and fun spunky names are reserved for dogs.
